New Deal Cafe
Thanks to everyone for coming out to the New Deal Cafe last night; I am humbled and energized by your kindness.
SAW Serves Embry Rucker
Very much a privilege to play with the SAW songwriters last Saturday afternoon out at the Embry Rucker shelter. Great sound from Ron Goad, great music all around.
49 West
Great evening, thanks to all for coming out to the show! I think my show peaked when Ali sang Who Found Who, as always. Cool new song from Justin. Love 49 West!
Beans in the Belfry
Wonderful evening in Brunswick. It was a real pleasure to meet some new folks, and I just love playing in this room.
4th of July
Had a blast (pun intended) playing at the neighborhood get together on the 4th. Thanks to Pete from Rickshaw Lizard for sitting in.
Common Ground on the Hill
I attended the Common Ground on the Hill workshop in Westminster the last week of June into July and really enjoyed it. This was my first time to this event and I learned a great deal. I was very fortunate to be able to play my new song “The Fiddlers’ Jones” for Claire Lynch, noted songwriter and IBMA vocalist of the year numerous times, and received some excellent feedback. She taught a group of songwriters all week how to put a song together and we learned a lot. I also had a class with acoustic guitar icon Russ Barenberg. Russ always helps me focus on my music and gets me directed back to the little details that always make the difference.
Frederick Coffee Company
Thanks to everyone who came out, it was a great night and it was good to see that not everyone was away at the beach for the 4th. Special shout out to Mike Sodos for coming out bad back and all … I like the new look at FCC but I do miss the old coffee maker. It always felt like I was playing next to a train.
New Deal Cafe
OK, you never know what to expect when you host an open mic but how often does it involve an encore performance from a belly dancer? Shaharazad, visiting from New York, where she performs regularily, wowed the crowd. And that’s not to mention a jazz quartet from UMBC, fiddle player and songwriter John Roy Zat visiting from the Bay area, and Joey Campfire himself taking the rock and roll pratfall to close out his set.
Brewer’s Alley
Thanks so much for coming out on Monday. It was a real pleasure to play for you in one of the finest listening rooms in the region. Special thanks to Rod Deacey and Ron Goad for joining me on Outdoor In and to Todd Walker for the great sound.
Moyaone Market
Had a blast picking with Lynn Hollyfield, Chris and Bonnie Allis, and Sue. Hope to do this again later this Summer. Very laid back, fine crafts, food and beverages, at a beautiful spot near the river in Accokeek, MD.
